Bartending at an upscale bar in Austin, he came in with Rory Cochrane (from Dazed and Confused-CSI), while they were filming A Scanner Darkly in town.

They played pool and ordered Jack and Cokes, about three times from me and I told him I’d start him a tab..…as he was about to leave,I told him not to worry about the tab and to have a good night—He pulled out a few twenties and tipped me $80……very sweet…..

Oddly enough, I have met a ton of “celebrities”, most of which are not all that special…The thing about Kevin Smith is he seems genuinely real…down to earth and humble, and FUNNY!
Anyway, I am a major Kevin Smith NERD…I know all of his movies and can recite lines to more than I should…some of the later movies aren’t as great, but come on, he seems like such a cool guy…I’d love to have a beer with him and ask him tons of really dorky questions!

Met him twice—am mentioned in The Brown album’s Coddingtown ;) have loved him since 1991—
Although I much , much later went to one of his shows and started talking to him backstage, he was very uniterested and a total dick (so I never even told him who I was) :(

At a movie premiere in Austin at The Paramount Theater, I served him a Tecate….didn’t let him pay and got a fat tip…Super nice!
